Great Pic Brian. I'll have to dig mine up.
I have this very weird memory. Around the end of 8th grade - you decided you wanted to be called Pete (maybe Peter). That's how you signed my autograph book. Memory just came back cause I saw one of your kids is named Pete. LOL
Eddie Corcoran - how are you? I'm happy to see the Bronx still has great teachers (I have confidence you're a great teacher). I ran into Arthur Carlucci's (not sure of spelling) father about 10 years ago at a medical convention (he was a salesman). I remember him telling me that Arthur was a school teacher in the Bronx also.
I still have a lot of family there. In fact, a sister of mine is the kindergarten teacher in OLA. A few years back my brother Kevin was the paster @ OLA. He's down in Manhattan now.
Gail - not sure if I ever thanked you for my perfect score in the orals of the French Regents - thanks a lot. Have you heard anything from Patrice or Noreen since High School? I haven't. I went to college with Mary Ann Carroll, was even a bridesmaid at her wedding. We've lost touch over the years. She was not a big fan of the internet. Would love to reconnect with her.

Hi Mary Anne,
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you. And thanks for your faith in my teaching ability. I do well with the kids, but I still have problems with authority. Some things never change:)
Keep in touch.

Hey Brian,
ReplyDeleteHow's it going? I was telling the kids I teach in school that you were one of the people that I was in school with for 12 years- 8 years in OLA and 4 years in Science. Dennis is part of that group too. Remember when you used to say that Mr. Stark was unfair to "BIC?" Why do I remember that:)
Talk to you soon.

Hey Everyone! I can't believe we're all connecting after all these years! What great memories I have from OLA. MaryAnne, your brother actually helped me and my husband plan our wedding at OLA 23 years ago. I couldn't resist - I had to go back to OLA to get married! We're living out in Long Island in Garden City and have a 17 year old daughter, a 13 year old son, and 10 year old son (I got started late)! And, yes, the Singleton's did have 11 kids. We now have 28 grandchildren, and 17 great grandkids! It certainly makes for interesting family parties. So happy to hear from everyone and can't wait for the reunion. I saw Dennis and Denise a couple of years back at a party, and have run into Jimmy Harding once or twice up in Pearl River. Other than that I haven't seen anyone. I remember that Eddie, Dennis, Paul Mooney, Eileen Snyder (anyone know where she is?)and myself were all in the same building with Alice McLoughlin next door in the next building. We had so many kids on our block! Looking at Nora's class picture from 6th grade brought back so many memories. Hope to hear from you all soon! - Susan
ReplyDeleteSusan, I got married at OLA too, I had too! In 1978 so I am married 30 years, wow! I have a 28 yr old, 23yr old, and a 15 yr old,,,My husband jokes .."we were shy" I lived on Kingsbridge terrace, Nancy Vrana lived down at the end near the public school and Carmen's candy store I lived closer to Kingsbridge road my address was 2788.Now we live in Delmar, NY about 5 miles outside of Albany. Right after we married we moved to Greenville, NY about 30 miles south of Albany. My parents bought their first home there and Mike and I decided that we liked the area and with our chosen careers we could live anywhere. Looking forward to finally getting together.
ReplyDeleteHey susan,
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you after all these years. I remember Eileen Snyder moved to Long Island with her family, but that was a long time ago. Don't really know where she is now. About the only people from Sedgwick Avenue I keep in touch with are Richie and Ronnie Walsh.
Talk to you soon.
Eddie
DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THE BOOKLETS WE MADE IN 8TH GRADE? I WAS NOTICEABLE NORA,AND EACH OF US HAD A PAGE , AND I THINK WE SIGNED THEM LIKE A YEARBOOK.
ReplyDeleteALSO DOES ANYONE REMEMBER MR TOM FRENCH ( GYM TEACHER)? I REMEMBER HIM VERY WELL BECAUSE HE USED TO CALL ME "WOODSY"HE PLAYED CYO BASKETBALL WITH MY BROTHER AND WHOM THEY CALLED WOODSY. HE TEASED THE HECK OUT OF ME.
I remember Mr French - he was hot. I think he was doing one year of teaching before joining the FBI.
ReplyDeleteI still have that booklet somewhere, I was "merry Mary Anne". I'll dig it up.
Hi Eddie! It's so good to hear from you! Sounds like you have a very rewarding career as a special education teacher. I thought Eileen moved to New Jersey? Do you remember Gary Lupo and MaryEllen McClory? I see them all the time and they stay in touch with the Walshes so I've kept up with some of the Sedgewick Ave. doings.
ReplyDeleteNora - I do remember that booklet but don't have it anymore. I think I've lost just about everything along the way all these years! And, yes, I do remember Tom French. He went to school and was friends with one of my older sisters. That was the year that I first fell in love! He did go to the FBI but I don't know more than that since my sister lost touch with him.
Can't wait to see you all! - Susan
